CU Goodies

I often forget to post new CU products, partly because I am reluctant to bore those who aren't interested in designing.  It has been pointed out to me that some scrappers like to have beautiful flowers in their stash independent of finding them in kits, so I am going to try to reform and post about new additions more faithfully :)

Here are March's additions to the CU shop.  I love dimension in my scrapbook pages, as a result many of my products reflect that.

Flower Frenzy 9 is still at the introductory sale price; it seems odd to blog about both and not have both on sale, so for today through Friday, use coupon code CUSAVE20  to take 20% off your order.  And if you have no interest in CU whatsoever, you can still use the code on other things you DO want!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I have a thing for St. Paddy's Day.  Maybe it dates back to grade school, and the fun of remembering to wear green so I wouldn't get pinched at school.  In the early days of my interwebs experience I used to hunt down free animated web graphics and make a web page full of dancing leprechauns and smiling shamrocks - the schlockier the better.  Then I would send the link to everyone I knew, LOL.

Once I started designing, the internal war I have over the practicality of a kit and my sense of whimsy battled, so there haven't been too many overtly "Irish" kits forthcoming.  I think last year was the first truly Gaelic/Celtic kit I've ever made (Love and Laughter) and I truly love it; to this day it is a personal favorite.  This year, I just really wanted to do something that was Irish-inspired, and The Castle on the Hill is the result.

The color palette was taken from a photo of a beautiful Irish castle landscape, with grey storm clouds on the horizon.  With nature colors predominant, it will work beautifully to scrap almost anything; it will also lend itself well to masculine layouts with the browns and blues.  And there are a few shamrocks and Irish touches just for fun!

As usual, my team of talented ladies rocked the layouts:

And in the spirit of the season, I made you a "wee giftie" to celebrate the day.

You can download it HERE

Don't forget that my spring cleaning sale is still going strong - save 50% on a purchase of
$10 or more!

All righty, that's about it for me.  Have a great, green day, and may the luck of the Irish be with you!

My Favorite Pea Fonts. Well, some of them, anyway.

If you are a digital scrapper, you probably know immediately what Pea Fonts are.  If you are new to the fold, you may be scratching your head.  "Pea Fonts" are wonderful handwritten fonts from real people that Amanda Bottoms from KevinAndAmanda.com has turned into fonts.  The best part is that she gives them away freely.  Admittedly, a visit to her blog usually takes me much longer than intended because I really enjoy reading about her and her endeavors, and I've gotten quite a few useful tips on many things, not just scrapbooking.

Anywho, there are scads of pea fonts and you know how it is.  You just can't install ALL FONTS on your machine.  I sorted through my collection and picked out the ones I used the most - before my love affair with typewriter fonts I almost always used Pea Fonts for my journaling.  Here they are for you with links below.  If you want the whole kit and kaboodle, or to pick out your own faves, here's the main link:  http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/

Enjoy!
