Not your ordinary templates...

There is a part of my mind that enjoys the specific style of creativity that is involved in making templates, but it is as quirky as the rest of me, LOL.  I like templates that enable creating a layout with lots of photos that is still interesting, but not too hard to create, because I am not infinitely patient, and I'm not good at weeding out photos and choosing just one.  I sometimes think that my scrapping life would be much easier if I were - I'd be happy with one photo, five perfectly chosen enhancements, and one perfect piece of paper.

But, I am ME.

This week, I am ME with a vengeance - a new free-standing family tree template, and a new set of photo trays designed to accommodate ALL those photos you just can't exclude because they all say a little something different.

And because I really do make these for myself, I scrapped with both of them:

This one is a bit of a play on the "box" theme, but it shows that you can combine large and small photos - not every box needs something different.

My tree is full of birds.  It's actually very much like my back yard tree, because the one that holds the bird feeder is also bare-branched, having given up the ghost in the Colorado Winter Before Last.  We love it, because we can see them so clearly, and they like being able to see predators coming.  I seem to be incapable of not taking photos of them, even though they often look almost exactly alike, LOL.

Two of my creative team members also used this template:

Poki actually put family in hers, I love the way she moved the tags around to put the little folks on the bottom.  Jenni has a Doggie Family tree, which I just love.  Both of them used the tree paper from last week's kit Sky High - it looks great behind that bare tree!

Hopefully that gives you some ideas of your own.  Both sets will be at the introductory sale price for a limited time, so pick 'em up and start cleaning some of those photos out of folders and into your scrapbook!

Er, Time Flies... but it flies Sky High!

There's always a bit of a lull after one of the "big" scrapping holidays.  This blog certainly reflects that!  I had a week off while my husband and I traveled to Durango and explored down into Monument Valley and the surrounding area.  It's always good to get away, although I admit having a couple hundred more photos in my scrapping folder might put a little pressure on the pleasure just a tiny bit, LOL.

Anyway, I've been back in the groove this week, and have a pretty new kit for you.  It's fresh and springy and light and versatile -

There are some spiffy solids and extras to go along:

And a fun set of birdwatcher brushes - we are all enjoying having the birds back and active for spring!

Beautiful examples from my Creative Team -  love these talented ladies!

Of course you can get all the pieces of the collection bundled up for extra savings, too - the whole kit and caboodle will be at the introductory sale price for a limited time.

Another harbinger of spring is flying kites - I remember doing this a few times with our daughters when they were little.  I've put together a little photo tray for you:

It includes PSD, TIF, and PNG files, and Jennifer kindly converted it to .page files as well - you can download it HERE.

I think that's it for me this time - hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'm going to see if I can get started on those new photos in my guilt folder  ;)

Celebrate iNSD with Studio Sherwood. Let's scrap Pets!

It has been a long time coming.  I finally sorted through all the jumble in my head, and got down to creating that pet kit I've always wanted.  I think the fact that both of my daughters have new pets helped quite a bit - when one is constantly scrapping adorable photos and yet more keep rolling in, you sort of get inspired.  Combined with just a teensy bit of guilt because you KNOW you are procrastinating, LOL.  Anyway.

So here it is.  Full of outdoor colors and pet fur colors, and lots of vintage awesomeness (I can call the vintage stuff awesome, because let's face it, I was not the creator, just the curator, LOL).  Let's scrap!

There are about a trillion add-ons.  I told you, I have procrastinated a long time, but I was still collecting ideas:

(I love confetti.  I hope you share the love LOL)

(What's a collection without photo trays?)

Or you can get the whole kit and kaboodle in the big bundle:

I also have a little matching freebie that I think would work great with the photo trays (but it's purrfectly neutral, so you can use it for any purpose):

You can download it HERE

Best part is all the new goodies (well, and the other goodies too) are on sale through Monday!

So happy shopping, happy celebrating, and most of all... happy scrapping!

Attitude. Check!

I guess we all have our own little quirks.  Mine may or may not be a tendency to whine...  usually in good fun and a bit tongue-in-cheek.  Usually.

Sometimes my whining develops into a schtick - a way to interact with others in an amusing fashion.  Yes, this is what I have convinced myself is true.  It's just my way of giving back.  LOL.

So in my selfless desire to amuse my fellow designers the other day (and vent at the same time), I shared a little rant via email, and later chatted cheerfully about it with Lorilei of Rosey Posey Studio.  As a designer there are always many jokes of "ha, should make a kit out of THAT" and this was no exception.  I went off on my merry way and didn't think too much about it.

Until later that afternoon when she sent me the preview of her portion of the "collaboration."  There's some pressure right there, folks.  Put up or shut up.

As a result, I present to you Attitude: Whiny

Who knew whining could be so pretty, right?  I love the colors Lor chose.  Here's a peek at her version:

Love her vibrant, artsy style!

And just for the weekend, you can purchase both kits in a super-duper money saving bundle:

The layouts from my creative team have demonstrated just how versatile this set really is:

I also have a little freebie to go along:

You can download it HERE

There you have it!  Get the great deal while you can, and happy scrapping!

Anchored in Hope

I have a new collection in the store today. I've wanted to do a nautical-themed kit for some time but couldn't quite wrap my head around how to go about it without being too themey or worse, clichéd. I finally settled on a color palette and thematic variation that I love, and I hope you love it, too!

Lots of extras with this one.  They are available separately, or in the money saving bundle:

As always, beautiful examples from my talented team:

There's also a new addition to the Photo Cluster family:

Sometimes you don't want a whole page of photos, just a few:

These photos were from 2005.  Whew.  Do you know how good it feels to get them off my hard drive and into a layout?!  And it was quick and easy :)

Anchored in Hope will be at the introductory sale price this week.  Enjoy, and Happy Scrapping!

Spring Cleaning, Birthday Sales, and TAPE!

Yesterday was the first day of Spring.  It was also my birthday.  And since I would never clean my house on my birthday, one being fun, and the other NOT being fun, I just cleaned some kits out of my store and put them in the @rchive @ttic at a reduced price.

And then I put my store on sale :)

I do have a new set of Photo Clusters in the shop.  They are extra spiffy, because they come with TAPE!

Enjoy the sale, I'm going to go sit in the sun and listen to the birds :)  Happy Scrapping!
