Friday? Really? Already?

I had a bit of a disagreement with one of my computers this week, and somehow I lost a couple of days fighting with it. I thought it should access the internet via my wireless router, and the laptop did not think it should. We have "agreed to differ" for now (yeah, I couldn't figure it out), but not until I invested a larger chunk of my life looking for answers on the interwebs than was perhaps prudent or necessary (particularly being many of these hours were hours that would have been better spent sleeping).

It's a good thing that last week I was completely inspired by a color palette and got my goodies for new release day done early (hey, guess what, Plain Digital Wrapper's New Release day is on Fridays, now!):

And here are some lovely layouts -

Thank you :)

I just want to say thank you to those of you who took the time and effort to respond to my questions a few days ago. It was nice to connect on a more personal level, and I got many helpful replies and suggestions, which is great!

New goodies will be going in the PDW Store on Wednesday, but there's a little freebie that matches and I have the patience of a two-year-old, so I'm posting them today :)

This is Amberwell, with a nice spectrum of papers from light to dark, and an interesting palette, I think :)

And here's the little freebie - it's available now! I'll post the link to the kit in the store when it goes live on Wednesday :) Enjoy!

Amusing

After being quite good, all day, I picked a Dove chocolate out of the box by the couch. Is it wrong to be horribly amused that the little message inside was "Try a cheese course after dinner instead of dessert" ~ Martha Stewart.

But the message was inside a piece of CHOCOLATE, not a babybel cheese wheel. Ironic.

(those of you who know me will not be surprised that I'm sorely tempted to have the cheese, now)

Still here...

Some new goodies in my store (finally, LOL):

There's a matching alpha, which you can download free for a few days :) Check the bottom of the post!

I've been thinking a lot. (Explains all that smoke, doesn't it ?) Even if one is Resolution-resistant (I am), there's something about January that makes you all thought-y and analyze-y. I've been noticing it mostly in the scrapping arena (probably because that's so much more comfortable than examining the "dieting" arena, LOL). I just have the sense that my newly-returned mojo is a delicate thing, in need of gentle stimulation and challenge. Which is a dainty and non-finger-pointing way of saying "I was in a serious rut."

I was fortunate, yesterday, to meet a couple of real live flesh-and-blood digital scrapbookers. While I think we all enjoy lots of online scrap buddies (this is a digital hobby, after all), it's really interesting (and slightly surreal) to sit in a room with two people who know what you're talking about. I'm afraid it sort of went to my head and I peppered them with barrage after barrage of the questions that have been swirling around in my head (sorry ladies!).

Being an equal-opportunity pest, I'd love to get some input from the online world of digiscrappers, so I've put together a little list of questions for you (with none of my rude interrupting - be thankful). Everyone who comments on one or more (and includes a way to reach you) will receive a coupon for my store. Thanks!

1) Are you a kit-scrapper, or a stash-scrapper? (If you ARE a stash-scrapper, do you have all your supplies tagged or otherwise organized? What's your favorite method/program?)

2) Are you a paper person, or an element person? What kind of papers do you prefer? What's your favorite element type (i.e. frames, date thingies, journaling accessories...) If you open up a new kit and you're disappointed because there's no _____, what would ____ be?

3) Do you look at other layouts/galleries for inspiration? If so, where?

4) What are your favorite scrapping colors/textures/patterns?

5) What's your "default" style of scrapping? What would you like to try?

6) What sort of scrap items are you TIRED OF?

7) Other comments? You can drop me a line at julieitis at g mail dot com, if you'd prefer. Thanks!

Oh My Goodness!

Not entirely sure why, but this is my new saying du jour. I did some errands yesterday, and every time I got behind someone who was a wee bit less motivated than I was that was the first thing out of my mouth. When I paged through a magazine yesterday and realized that EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE was telling me to get my life together and change already, I had an Oh.My.Goodness! all ready to go. (I even tried it out loud, and it was BETTER) Today I have OMG'd the dishwasher, the dog, my left foot, and my computer. Actually, my computer has been OMG'd twice - we are evidently just not on the same wavelength today ;)

It's admittedly better than some of my previous phrase phases, for sure. I won't list any of them here, but I'm pretty sure I picked them up in an unsavory corner of the internet, and sometimes inappropriate words that rise unbidden but readily can cause acute embarrassment and the desire that some restraint had been exercised early on in the process. Oh My Goodness is pretty benign, but that is a little bit of a trap, particularly now that I've figured out how lovely it is to say it out loud :) Perhaps in a few days there will be another silly post about how I've gotten myself into another embarrassing spot. And then all of you can say...

Oh My Goodness!
