Thank you for participating in the February 2014 DigiScrap Parade! If you're following the Parade route from start to finish, you should have arrived here from Just Jaimee and your next stop will be Anita Designs. If you get lost along the way, simply head back to the main DigiScrap Parade site to view the master list and get back on track.
I admit I struggle with Parade contributions quite often, because the color palettes aren't perhaps my thing. And I try to make something that's useful and relevant, because too often freebies just gather dust on our hard drives if we can't immediately see a use for them. This time, I thought it would be fun to offer a sample of one of my photo tray templates. Those who know (and love) me understand that it is a minor obsession of mine, but they are just such a fun way to make a wall hanging or a card, and you can dress them up or keep them very simple, according to your scrapping style.
I put together a couple of example pages for you to show you some ideas. Admittedly, these are much simpler than my usual pages, but I wanted to confine myself to just the items in this sampler so you have a better idea:
For this version, I clipped photos to the provided pieces in the template, added a soft, deep shadow to the base piece, and floated the word art on top. The vellum paper layer is actually a shabby white paper that is included, I just lowered the opacity.
For this version, I hid all of the individual photo spots, and just clipped my photo to the base piece on the lowest layer. The compartments of the frame add interest, and the large photo creates an interesting continuity :)
You could easily take other pieces from the parade offerings and cluster around the frame, or clip contrasting papers in the compartments... it's all up to you! I hope you have fun, and if you enjoy it, take a look at some of my other photo tray templates in my shop:
There's a nifty coupon included in the package, too :)
Finally, here it is!

Enjoy!
